Hearken Dice by TCC & Classicho
Dice are objects we are all familiar with. Dice plays a big role in magic, especially as one of the primary tools for mentalism, allowing the presentation of mental magic effects in a clear and intuitive manner. You may have seen many magic props and products related to dice. Among these is one of the coolest classic magic prop invented by Martin Sunshine in the 1930s, known for its simplicity and clever operation, making it a favorite among mentalists.
Additionally, in children’s magic sets, there is a small dice-based mentalism effect that uses two dice, where an audience member casually places the dice into a container. The magician takes it, shakes it by their ear, and then accurately guesses the numbers facing up on the dice. Building on these two products, we had a new idea, leading to the creation of Classicho’s fifth release – the Hearken Dice.
We changed the number of magic dice to two, inspired by the Mental Die. Using a clever magic principle and a wooden box with specific dimensions and design, we achieved the ability to simultaneously decern the numbers on both dice. With a maximum sum of 12 and a total of 66 possible combinations, it can be paired with card magic presentations similar to the Berglas effect or customized by yourself using special card sets for a unique magic routine. This enriches the magic effects on multiple levels.
We chose high-quality ebony wood and inlaid with yellow boxwood. The 40mm size dice maintains a comfortable and clear visual. The wooden box is primarily made of Cambodian Rosewood and finished to look like Black Ebony on the surface. It’s not just about magic; but also a nice collectible piece.
